BigStuf 2008

Panama City Beach, FL

Lives were changed at Bigstuf this year, big time!  As you explore the Bigstuf 2008 page you will see how God faithfully made Himself real to our students and leaders.  Many came to know Christ and were broken from chains of pain, hurt and sin in their lives that have bound them from living a life of freedom and joy.  It's only when we experience true brokenness over our sin and authentic repentance within our hearts that we can begin to comprehend the magnitude of God’s grace and love for us.  Only then do we develop a heart for God that drives us to live for Him and serve Him.  We do so not out of obligation, but rather out of amazing gratitude!

Please pray for our students.  Camp experiences can be powerful.  Unfortunately, our students have no choice but to jump right back into their everyday world once it is over.  It is then that the enemy wants to completely wreck their faith and progress with doubt, temptation and fear. A friend of mine sent me this quote by a man named Rees Howells
regarding the backsliding of new Christians.

“Many blame the young converts for backsliding", he said, "but we blamed ourselves, because we were not in a position to pray them through to victory.  Oh, the tragedy, to be helpless in front of the enemy when he was sifting young converts like wheat!"

Pray, pray, and pray for our students.  Please…

The Other Side of Bigstuf

The amount of life change that happened at BigStuf, session 3, 2008 is overwhelming and has left me undone before my God. Crosses were picked up and baggage was cast off. Pride fought for a foothold and judgement fought for ground in our hearts, but LOVE won out! Hearts-of-stone were replaced by hearts of flesh. Old creatures became new creations. God beckoned to the hearts of His beloved and those hearts answered back with surrender and trust in the One who promises to never leave us or forsake...

So....

What's so big about Bigstuf? What would make anyone in their right mind decide to jump on a bus with 48 teenagers for a 24 hour round trip filled with 4 nights in an unserviced hotel room with 6 people’s clothes strewn all about with kids they didn’t raise and in some cases don’t even know to eat 10 meals they’d never drive to eat but yet they stand in line for 10-20 minutes to pick up, only to follow that up 8 times with a 45 minute wait in a packed sweaty hallway for the doors to be...

A good day

Hi, this is Elizabeth Rosenblum.  Yesterday (Friday) we continued with a great day where spiritually some really cool things happen, but for a moment I would like to highlight our free time. Even though it was overcast all day and our ultimate Frisbee game was cancelled because of weather, personally it was a great day at the beach. We had a volley ball game, that we lost, but everyone came out to support one another. We ended up playing our own Frisbee game that many participated in and...

Movement...

...that's what we've seen so far here at Bigstuf!  More specifically, the movement of God in the lives of your students!  This blog will be quick and pictures are coming, but i only have a few moments to sign in before its on to group pictures and our second day of events.  Last night, the speaker at the main session talked about how the sin we carry around with us affects our broadcast.  He talked about how the problem with sin is not that it keeps us doing it, but...

Broadcast

Good morning and greetings form Panama City Beach!  The trip down here went great yesterday.  We even made it to our destination ahead of schedule!  Upon our arrival we were able to get settled in and even had some beach time before going to dinner and the main session. The theme of Bigstuf this year is Broadcast.  For the next 4 days we will talk about how everyone is broadcasting something. Whether we put our faith in Christ on not, our lives scream a message...
