Going Public at Highpoint
We believe that baptism is a public sign of identification with the
message and mission of Jesus Christ. It is an outward sign of the life change
that has already begun in the life of a believer after they have entered into
new life with Christ. At Highpoint Church we prefer to baptize through
immersion following the model of Christ's baptism and that of the first century
church. Baptism as an act of identification with the message does not aid
salvation, wash away sins, or serve as entrance into a church body, but rather
is the proclamation of a believer's identification with Christ and a first step
in the process of discipleship.
1. Let us know
There are three easy ways to let us know-
1. Fill out our online form
2. Contact a Highpoint Staff Member via email
3. Check the box on your Response Card found on your Listening
Guide in our services
2. Talk it Out
One of our staff members will call to follow up
on your decision. During this phone call, the staff member will answer your questions and schedule a time to shoot your video. From this phone call we can also arrange a meeting to discuss salvation further if needed.
3. Shoot the Video
Why do we do the video?—Baptism is about publicly
identifying with the message and mission of Jesus Christ. Shooting your video is important in two ways, it allows others to hear and relate to what God has done in your life and it serves as a spiritual marker in your life that you can look back on to remember what He has done.

The Highpoint Staff Member that contacts you will schedule your video shoot time at the the Highpoint Studio. Don't worry, they will also provide for you a list of questions to think over prior to your shoot to help you in telling your story. The Studio is located at Briarcrest Christian School, 6000 Briarcrest Ave. Memphis, TN. 38120, room 108. Our video guys are great and will meet you in the lobby at your scheduled time and will walk you through the whole process.
4. Be Baptized
At the video shoot, you will schedule the date and service you will be baptized in. We will also provide you information on what to wear and time to arrive that morning. We encourage you to invite others that would be encouraged to hear your story on that Sunday to celebrate
God’s victory in and through your life. We also would like you to pick who you want to baptize you. We recommend you pick
the person who was most influential in your decision for Christ.
Along with baptism, we encourage you to make friends in a Sunday School and register for Starting Point to begin your journey.
