Parents + HP Kids
Let's work together!
Our goal in Highpoint Kids is to partner with parents to lead children to know Christ in a way that transforms their daily lives through worship, connect, equip and serve. Given the amount of time we spend with them each week compared to the time they spend at home, we know that a partnership with parents is essential.
Therefore, each week you will be given a take home sheet when you pick up your child. In Graceland you will get a small talk card. In Mainstreet and The Alley you will take home a green refrigerator door sheet. Please don't just throw it in the backseat on the way home! This is a tool for you to use that will let you know exactly what your children learn at church each Sunday.
In Graceland your child will learn one basic truth and one memory verse for the entire month. Each week the bottom line and bible story focus will change. You can read your take home sheet to see what your child learned each week and get ideas on how to discuss these truths with them at home.
In Mainstreet and The Alley your child will learn one virtue and memory verse for the entire month. The bottom line for each week changes to learn a new aspect of the monthly virtue. You may read through the green refrigerator door sheet and discuss the virtue, bottom line, bible story, and discussion questions with your kids throughout the week. Help your child memorize the bible verse too!
The Alley kids will also bring home God Time Cards. These cards are a
guide for your kid to have a priority time. The cards also have guided
interaction with the parents during the week. Please encourage your kid
to use the God Time card daily to begin a priority time.
Security and Policies
Keeping our kids safe
Security at HP Kids
We want you to know that we spare no expense or resource to make sure your child is safe at Highpoint Church. No one is allowed past our security checkpoints without proper identification. Proper Identification includes staff ID badge, HP Kids leader ID badge, or a family ID badge. Upon arriving at HP Kids you will check in using our computer stations, and receive a name tag for each child and a parent security sticker. Highpoint regulars and members will receive a permanent keytag to allow
you to use our self check in kiosks in the HP Kids lobby. The number on the parent sticker will match up with a number on the name tag for your child. When you pick up your child, the leader will make sure your security sticker matches the number on your child. No one can pick up your child without the security code sticker. If at any time you child needs you during church, we will put your security ID number on the screen in the service to alert you to return to
your child.
Volunteers in HP Kids
So, who are the people in the classroom with your child? Each leader in HP kids is a volunteer who attends Highpoint. They volunteer on a rotating basis to love and teach children in HP Kids about Jesus. Each volunteer goes through a screening process before they can be in a classroom with kids. The volunteer fills out a detailed volunteer application providing information about their past, personal references and permission to do a background check. We check the references and perform a background check. After approval, the volunteer is trained and assigned a classroom with an age group they enjoy.
Sick Policy
Because we care for the health of your child and the other children in their classroom, please do not bring your child if they have had any of the following symptoms in the last 24 hours: fever, vomitting, diarrhea, persistent cough, green or yellow nasal drainage, or an unexplained external rash.
You may download our
"Highpoint Kids Policy and Procedure Manual" . All volunteers agree to uphold the policies and procedures in this document when caring for your child.
