LOCAL MISSIONS TEAMS

We exist to serve people, and where better to start than within our own city.

MEMPHIS UNION MISSION

Highpoint is proud to partner with Memphis’s oldest and largest rescue mission. The Memphis Union Mission (MUM) ministers to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of men, women, and children who are homeless, addicted, and in crisis; and helps them to become disciples of Christ and self-sufficient members of the community. Among the many ways you can serve at the MUM exist opportunities for you to cook food, serve food, shop for food, organize clothing drives, teach, mentor, and help lead worship.

Highpoint Church serves a meal and hosts the Worship Service the 4th Sunday evening of every month. Please CLICK HERE to register for the next opportunity to serve at the Memphis Union Mission.

OVERTON HIGH SCHOOL

In 2008, Highpoint Church and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) began a partnership with the purpose of investing and empowering faculty, teachers and staff at Overton High School.  The vision of FCA is to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches. Our church community has invested beyond athletes and is now involved in the creative arts programs (CAPA) as well as other social and academic clubs. Many serving opportunities and mentoring relationships have developed through committed Highpoint individuals pouring their lives into students and loving them towards God and success. Among the different serve roles available within Overton High school are Sports Specific Teams, Food Team, CAPA Team, Faculty Appreciation Team, FCA Club, Transportation Team, Special Events Team, Student Activity Teams, Parent Team, Mentor Team, and Landscape Team.

DISASTER RELIEF

Highpoint is partnering with different organizations to respond to the needs of those affected by natural disasters locally, nationally, and abroad.  Disaster relief consists of three phases - recovery, restoration, and rebuild.  Recovery consists of initial clean-up and debris clearing.  Restoration consists of damage assessment, a more thorough “gut-out”, clean-up, and planning for rebuilding.  Rebuild consists of construction of new structures and restoration of those damaged that can be saved.  Servants on the Disaster Relief Team are thoroughly trained in Disaster Relief policies and procedures, and are certified based on the time and travel availability of the individual servant.  All team members are contacted as soon as opportunities present themselves, and teams are organized accordingly.
