Sunday night at NextGen we began a discussion on Holiness and made the argument that God is only good. That there is no bad or evil in Him. Consequently, He is unable to make things happen to us that are unjust or unfair. To do so would be to go against His very nature. He cannot not be God!
1 John 1:5 says, “God is light, in him there is no darkness at all.” God is completely free from moral evil and is the absolute essence of moral purity.
So what about the bad and the evil in this world? What about the pain you are going through right now? What or who caused that?
Sin. A long time ago when Adam and Eve chose to sin instead of follow God's ultimate plan for their life - one that was promised to be full of love, adventure, romance and happiness - they allowed sin and evil and pain to enter the world. What we are experiencing thousands of years later is a result of the cumulative effect of that sin over the millennia.
Satan is who convinced them to sin and blow it big and he is still doing that to the rest of us today.
Want to be mad? Want to take it out on someone? Be mad at Satan, the creator of sin and pain, abandonment, nonacceptance, fear, insecurity and heartache!
How do you take it out Satan? How can you lean into God's holiness this week?
This is an open discussion forum for you! Respond your thoughts about the questions above and your thoughts from Bob's sermon Sunday night.
